Joseph Mallord William Turner - 2 Hour Screensaver - The Burning of the Houses of Lords and Commons

The fire shocked London. Hours of inferno, the whole city out on the riverbanks watching Parliament go. Then came the second shock. A few months later, Turner delivered a live painting performance at the British Institution during Varnishing Days. Those days were meant for small touch ups before an exhibition opened. He came with a barely started canvas and spent them building this entire view in the room, in front of other artists and a stunned London crowd.
