Monet: After the Show

Summer 1874. Nobody knows yet if the first Impressionist exhibition was a triumph or a disaster. The critics are still arguing, the artists are still recovering. After months of pressure putting the whole thing together, Monet takes the summer off. He's back at his house in Argenteuil, and his studio boat becomes his whole world for a while. No pressure, no deadlines, just the river and the little town of Petit Gennevilliers sitting across the water.
